Barcelona 1-3 Real Madrid

So, it is advantage Real in this two-legged contest.

The second leg is at the Bernabeu this coming Wednesday. Kick-off is a bit later - at 22:00 BST.

FULL-TIME

Barcelona 1-3 Real Madrid

What a second half! Four goals, a red card for one of the scorers, Cristiano Ronaldo, and a controversial penalty.

El Clasico delivers again.

Pick that out!

Ronaldo's goal was good, this is better. Marco Asensio is found in the Barca half and looks to be biding his time but in a flash he pulls the trigger to send a drive rifling into the top corner from 25 yards.

This kid has a growing reputation and a lot of expectation around him. This is why. Wow.

SUBSTITUTION

Barcelona 1-2 Real Madrid

Final change for Barca. Rakitic heads off to be replaced by Alcacer.

Barcelona 1-2 Real Madrid

What next?!

There is a lot of squaring up going on between the two sets of players, who don't really need a reason to be angry with each other but have been given plenty.

To go back to the Ronaldo red, I have some sympathy for the second yellow. He was off balance so the contact with Umtiti did for him. No sympathy for the first yellow, though. He earned it through pure vanity.

RED CARD

Barcelona 1-2 Real Madrid

Ronaldo sent off
Reuters

Can you believe it?!

1. Ronaldo is booked for taking his shirt off.

2. He goes to ground after a shoulder to shoulder challenge in the box with Umtiti looking for a penalty.

3. He is booked for diving and subsequently sent off.

These games are always eventful but this is madness!

Who else?

You simply can't keep him out of an El Clasico. Real break and feed the ball wide left to Ronaldo. He still has ground to make to get into the box, but with Barca backing off he gets to within shooting distance, cuts inside and curls a shot into the far top corner.

Off comes the shirt for some muscle flexing.

DeathApeDisco: Well that was a dive.

Barcelona 1-1 Real Madrid

Almost 2-1 Barca! Messi runs from halfway, committing defenders before feeding the ball to Denis Suarez on the edge of the box. Suarez can't direct his shot on target and watches on as the ball skips past the post.

No mistake. Messi side-foots the ball home. We are level again.

PENALTY

Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid

Controversy! The ref points to the spot after Luis Suarez goes down under a challenge from Real keeper Navas. There was contact but he made the absolute most of it.

Real are fuming but Messi has the chance to level...

Suarez

Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid

Brilliant double save from Navas. Messi fires from range, forcing a good diving save from the keeper, who is quickly off his feet to block the follow-up.

Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid

What a miss! The goal is at Sergio Busquets' mercy as Suarez's scuffed shot falls at his feet but somehow he lifts his shot over the bar from 12 yards. It really is starting to look like it is not Barca's night!

Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid

One Suarez to another. Luis weaves past two men and sets up Denis, but the latter's shot is straight at Navas, who saves. It is starting to look like it is not going to be Barca's night.

Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid

Ronaldo tries to put a mark on the game as only he can, rising to perform an acrobatic bicycle kick to a Gareth Bale cross but he misjudges the effort and shins it over the bar.

He has the ball in the net soon after, via a finish from inside the box, but the flag is up against him for offside.

Chris Duckworth: Does anyone believe Neymar wouldn't rather be playing in El Clasico right now? Guingamp away doesn't really compare

Sho Rahman: Watching this Barca team, they're not a scary team to play anymore

Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid

Kovacic has picked up a knock and departs to be replaced by Asensio. Barca make a change of their own, sending on Sergi Roberto for Iniesta.

Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid

Oh, almost a second own goal, this time into the Real net. Luis Suarez pulls back a low cross that deflects off the boot of Varane and just past the near post.

Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid

Barca are applying plenty of pressure now but Real are digging in.

Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid

Luis Suarez tests Navas with a header that forces the Real keeper to push the ball over the bar.

SUBSTITUTION

Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid

Here he is. The boos are enough to let you know that Cristiano Ronaldo is coming on, for Karim Benzema.

Barca also make a change. Deulofeu's night is over as he is replaced by Denis Suárez.

Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid

How is it not 2-0?! Karim Benzema beats his man on the right side of the box and drives a low cross that presents Carvajal with an open net to find. He looks certain to score until, from nowhere, Aleix Vidal slides in to block.

Barcelona 0-1 Real Madrid

Oh, so close to an equaliser.

Jordi Alba's low cross flies in front of the diving Lionel Messi in the box but comes out to Gerard Deulofeu on the left.

This is the young winger's big moment but he fluffs it, sending a shot/cross past the far post. Golden opportunity wasted.

Disaster for Pique!

Marcelo gets in down the left and drives over a low cross that the Barca defender - stood in space - pokes a boot at and deflects past his own keeper.

He scored the winner in a friendly between these two in Miami in July. He might just have done so again.

Barcelona 0-0 Real Madrid

Lionel Messi tries to do it all by himself, attempting to muscle his way past three Real defenders on the edge of the box. He fails to do so and tumbles to the turf but his glare at the referee in search of a penalty is optimistic.

KICK-OFF

We are back under way. No changes from either side.

Fair enough. Surely their famous white kit might have been a better idea against a team who wear blue?

FULL-TIME

Guingamp 0-3 PSG

It's all over. One goal and one assist from Neymar on his PSG debut as they beat Guingamp with some ease. Two wins from two in Ligue 1.

HALF-TIME

Barcelona 0-0 Real Madrid

Sparks of quality, a bit of rustiness and a game still on simmer. How long before we see Cristiano?

Carvajal

Barcelona 0-0 Real Madrid

Barca have played some lovely stuff - it's what they do - but so far the final ball has been missing. Real are faring little better.

Gareth Bale meets a cross at the back post but gets underneath it and heads over.

Lazio have won the Italian Super Cup after a thrilling 3-2 win over Juventus. They led 2-0 after 85 minutes before Paulo Dybala levelled - but Allessandro Murgia scored deep into injury time to win it.

Barcelona 0-0 Real Madrid

The Messi v Casemiro feud continues. The Argentine dives in late on his opponent - a bit of payback for a similar challenge from the Real man earlier - and is booked.

Neymar (82 mins)

GGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL for Neymar.

Neymar heads it out to Edinson Cavani, who unselfishly squares the ball back to the Brazilian to tap into an empty net. Cavani usually would have gone alone from there.

Neymar
AFP

Barcelona 0-0 Real Madrid

Good reaction save from Ter Stegen. Isco drives in from the left and pulls the ball back for Gareth Bale to poke a first-time shot that is on target but palmed over by the Barca keeper.

SUBSTITUTION

Guingamp 0-2 PSG

PSG make a change as Marco Verratti is replaced by Javier Pastore.

Guingamp bring on two 19-year-olds, Marcus Thuram, son of Lillian, and Ludovic Blas.

Drama in the Italian Super Cup as Paulo Dybala scores twice in the last five minutes to level for Juventus against Lazio. He followed up his 85th-minute free-kick with an injury-time penalty. It's 2-2 now.

Barcelona 0-0 Real Madrid

Good work from Kovacic denies Messi an effort at the near post. Barca are in down the left and Deulofeu's low cross is designed for his Argentine team-mate but doesn't reach him thanks to the sliding Real man.

YELLOW CARD

Guingamp 0-2 PSG

Lucas Deaux is booked for a foul on Neymar. Moments later the Brazilian has a shot from distance blocked. Most of his opportunities tonight have been blocked.

Guingamp 0-2 PSG

Dani Alves crosses and Edinson Cavani's flying volley goes wide. I wonder how many shots he takes in a game. There's 15 minutes left.
