BtheG: Cristiano Ronaldo is great player, but Lionel Messi is magic!

Sasidhar: Ronaldo is not a deserving winner. Has done nothing since four months. Modric, Kroos, Isco and Messi are more deserving candidates

Barry McBoyle: Ridiculous decision to have no Scottish players in the Fifa Best XI

And that's that. A wrap at the Palladium. The indie disco is on after.

'A great moment for me'

The best player in the world

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo: "Guys, I'm going to speak first in Portuguese and then in English.

"Thanks a lot for voting for me. I mention Leo and Neymar, great to be here. Real Madrid supporters, my team-mates, my coach, they all support me all year.

"We are in England for the first time and I win consecutive awards. I am really glad, this is a great moment for me. I have fans all over the world.

"I appreciate that. It's great to be here around great players, I am so happy guys. Thanks and have a great night."

The Netherlands' Lieke Martens stepped up when it mattered at Euro 2017 and has become a star.

The debate will rage on as to whether it should have been Australia Sam Kerr instead, but Martens is a very worthy winner.

'This one's for you'

Lieke Martens, speaking at the Dutch training camp before tomorrow's qualifier: "Thanks you very much! I want to thank all my team-mates, without you I couldn't achieve this. Also my family is a big part of it.

"My dad and mum, this one is also for you"

She won Euro 2017 on home soil - congratulations to Barcelona and Netherlands winger Lieke Martens!

Time for the best Fifa women's player award then. Who do we think?

Iniesta is still exceptionally talented and to think he’s still at this level with his age. Him and Buffon together prove dedication is key to success

Dani Alves says it took him 14 minutes and 59 seconds to get ready. A precise answer.

Now we get Kasabian on stage. This is an odd evening all round.

The crowd get the chance to ask some questions now.

Carli Lloyd says that winning the 2015 World Cup is her proudest moment, Cristiano Ronaldo says that the key to his success is that 'talent without work, is nothing.'

Neymar is asked how long it takes him to get ready for a night out - he says 20 minutes!

Dare Lee: Why is Iniesta in that team?? That should have been Casemiro in there. He hasn't been the same player since Xavi left Barca

Patrice West: Iniesta has been a great player yes, but has he been one of the best three midfielders in the world this year? I don’t think so

'My 11th time'

Cristiano Ronaldo: "It is a great achievement, I feel very proud. It takes many hours of dedication and professionalism. It is the 11th time I have been in the team."

Sergio Ramos: "It takes strength, sacrifice and not being tired of winning."

Toni Kroos: "Real Madrid had a great season, we won big trophies."

Last year Bayern Munich had a player - but that's the only difference.
