Partick Thistle level at Tynecastle
SNS

That's all from me for today folks. Thanks for your company. It wasn't a thriller at Tynecastle but at least we got a couple of good goals and a bit of controversy, with Craig Levein disputing the legitimacy of Thistle's late equaliser.

We'll be back on Wednesday for Celtic's visit to Paris-St Germain in the Champions League. Join us again then and enjoy what's left of your weekend.

Archibald praise for Partick approach

FT: Hearts 1-1 Partick Thistle

Partick Thistle manager Alan Archibald is happy with a point.

He tells BBC Sportsound: "I thought we took the sting out of the game and settled in quickly. Our back three did ever so well and, overall, our shape was very good.

"I know it's a good strike (from Isma Goncalves) but he did the same at Murrayfield last time (against Kilmarnock) and we should not be allowing him to cut inside.

"It's hard to see what hand it hits but it's a great finish for the equaliser. Kris Doolan has only managed one training session all week."

FT: Hearts 1-1 Partick Thistle

You can see if Craig Levein has good reason to grumble when Sportscene is on at 22:50 on BBC One Scotland.

The online highlights will be available from midnight.

Hearts boss fumes at officials

FT: Hearts 1-1 Partick Thistle

Hearts manager Craig Levein is not a happy camper...

He tells BBC Sportsound: "I'm disappointed. I thought we did enough to win it, without being brilliant.

"Then when I see that the equaliser is offside and there's a handball, it makes me more miserable.

"If the officials had done their job a bit better, then they wouldn't have got the goal and that frustrates me."

FT: Hearts 1-1 Partick Thistle

Hearts will be at home again next weekend, with Ross County the visitors. Thistle have some free time with the League Cup final on and must wait until 2 December for a tussle with Hibs at Firhill.

What Kris Doolan does is link the play well and he is a natural finisher

FT: Hearts 1-1 Partick Thistle

I'm not knocking Craig Levein for his tactics but he's a negative coach. If Hearts win 1-0, people say great but taking the two strikers off allowed Thistle a way back into the game. There was no need to hang on because they had the better of the second half

FULL-TIME Hearts 1-1 Partick Thistle

Two cracking goals and that was about it on a day that was lacking in thrills.

Isma Goncalves found the bottom corner with a lovely curling shot to fire Hearts ahead in the second half but Thistle substitute Kris Doolan was in the right place to level with an emphatic strike late on.

Hearts nudge up a place to seventh, while the visitors stay in second bottom spot.

Hearts 1-1 Partick Thistle

Three minutes of stoppage time are announced as Thistle keeper Tomas Cerny does well to race from his line and smother the danger from a ball over the top.

Hearts 1-1 Partick Thistle

It's a Hearts debut for striker Aidan Keena, who is on for midfielder Don Cowie. Is Craig Levein regretting withdrawing his two main forwards now?

Hearts 1-1 Partick Thistle

Hearts were claiming for a handball somewhere before Doolan levelled and now the home side are angry again as Danny Devine is booked for wiping out Jamie Walker.

GOAL Hearts 1-1 Partick Thistle

Kris Doolan

That's what good strikers do. Hearts fail to clear a Blair Spittal free kick and when the ball falls to Kris Doolan he just smashes it home.

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

Another change for the visitors as Kevin Nisbett is on in the place of Stevie Lawless, who has been very quiet this afternoon.

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

A long-range dig from Kyle Lafferty clips the grounded Danny Devine and whizzes behind for a corner.

Then we have a flurry of substitutions; with Gary Fraser taking over from Chris Erskine in the Thistle midfield.

Hearts take off both strikers as Jamie Walker and Cole Stockton replace Isma Goncalves and Lafferty.

FULL-TIME Dundee United 3-0 Falkirk

Dundee United go top of the Championship table after beating Falkirk comfortably at Tannadice.

Goals from Scott McDonald, Jamie Robson and Willo Fllod did the damage against the Bairns, who remain second bottom of the pile.

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

Wolfwhistles for Isma Goncalves as the Hearts striker has to change his blood-soaked shorts by the side of the pitch. I'm not sure if it's his blood or not.

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

Now it's Jamie Brandon who is lucky to avoid a second yellow after a dangerous follow through on Jordan Turnbull, who had cleared his lines long before he was taken out by the young full-back.

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

The visitors are committing more men forward now but Hearts stand firm at the edge of their own penalty box.

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

Jamie Brandon, who has been enjoying a good game for Hearts, picks up a yellow card for a rash, late tackle on Blair Spittal.

Hearts deal with the free kick easily as Spittal's delivery fails to beat the first man.

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

Jamie Brandon lofts a pass over the top of the Thistle defence but a sliding Isma Goncalves can't quite get there.

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

Partick Thistle string together a few neat passes to get them up to the edge of the home penalty box and it needs a good interception from Christophe Berra to stop Blair Spittal weaving his way into a shooting position.

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

Hearts are defending 10 yards further up the park and squeezing the play more. That's what has made the difference

Keith LasleyMotherwell assistant manager on BBC Sportsound

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

Adam Barton is a lucky boy. Already on a yellow card, the Jags midfielder handles the ball deliberately after losing out in a challenge. Hearts take the free kick quickly, which maybe saves him from an early bath.

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

A positive run from Hearts full-back Jamie Brandon takes him through three challenges but goalscorer Isma Goncalves plays a pass to nowhere and the momentum is gone.

Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

Thistle make a change and it's a striker for a striker as Kris Doolan replaces Miles Storey.

GOAL Hearts 1-0 Partick Thistle

Isma Goncalves

Tynecastle is a lot livelier now as Isma Goncalves fires home a fantastic finish.

The striker cuts on to his right foot on the left edge of the penalty area and thumps a sweet shot into the far corner.

Jags keeper Tomas Cerny was maybe unsighted as Kyle Lafferty ran across his eyeline.

Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle

Miles Storey looks to have the better of Christophe Berra for pace as the pair go after a ball into the corner. It comes to nothing but the visitors will be looking to spring the striker every chance they get.

Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle

A burst of applause at kick off then an eerie silence takes hold again. I can't be the only one surprised at how flat the atmosphere is.

KICK-OFF

Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle

Here we go for the second 45 minutes. Will we get a breakthrough? Surely the standard will improve...

HT: Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle

Partick Thistle look comfortable on the ball. I'm just surprised they have been given the time to bring it out from the back

Huff, puff and scuff

HT: Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle

Bryn Palmer

BBC Scotland at Tynecastle

Plenty of huff and puff from both sides but little quality on show so far. David Milinkovic has threatened with his pace for the hosts, without providing an end product, while Thistle took 45 minutes to fashion a chance, only for Miles Storey to scuff it wide. Fingers crossed for more riveting fare in the second half.

For my next flick...

HT: Dundee United 3-0 Falkirk

Scott McDonald got Dundee United started at Tannadice with a delightful finish, the Australian striker flicking the ball over his own head and beyond Falkirk keeper Robert Thomson.

United are well on course to end the day on top of the Championship as the second half gets under way.

HALF-TIME Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle

We had fireworks as the teams walked out in front of the new main stand at Tynecastle but it's been a damp squib since then.

Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle

As the half-time whistle approaches, Thistle striker Miles Storey can see some daylight in behind the Hearts defence. He races forward but the ball is on his weaker left foot and his shot on the angle trundles wide.

Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle

Kyle Lafferty and Jordan Turnbull are involved in some wrestling on the touchline as David Milinkovic lashes a speculative shot over the top.

Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle

Hearts are more dangerous on the counter-attack. When they have time to build they look a bit short of ideas

Keith LasleyMotherwell assistant manager on BBC Sportsound

Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle

It's not been a classic. Both sides are struggling with the final ball.

Ouch!

Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle

Blair Spittal, operating as a wing-back for Thistle today, is in pain as he crunches into the advertising boards behind the goal after squeezing in a cross which is cut out by keeper Jon McLaughlin.

A grimace, a couple of deep breaths and he's good to go again.

HALF-TIME

Dundee United 3-0 Falkirk

It's been quite a first half from Csaba Laszlo's Dundee United. They are cruising thanks to goals from Scott McDonald, Jamie Robson and Willo Flood.

The worry for Falkirk is that United could and possibly should be further ahead.

United celebrate
SNS

Hearts 0-0 Partick Thistle

Thistle are knocking the ball around quite smartly but it all falls apart any time they get into the final third. Miles Storey is isolated up top for the visitors.
