West Brom 2-0 Brighton

A bit of a strange one.

West Brom 1-0 Brighton

Brighton captain Bruno, who looks like a heavy metal rocker with his shaven head and beard, has the visitors' first meaningful effort of the second half.

The Hammers said the man "violated a number of ground regulations" during their 2-1 win against the Baggies at London Stadium on 2 January.

Livermore, 28, avoided Football Association disciplinary action.

"Abusive behaviour will not be tolerated," said a West Ham spokesman.

West Brom 1-0 Brighton

You may recall a rather unsavoury incident involving West Brom midfielder Jake Livermore during their 2-1 defeat to West Ham at the start of the month. There's been an update this week.

HALF-TIME

West Brom 1-0 Brighton

West Brom deserve their lead and Alan Pardew will be particularly pleased with the way in which his side have defended.

Can they hang on for another 45 minutes?

West Brom 1-0 Brighton

Salomon Rondon slides a clever ball into the area and Craig Dawson scampers clear. The West Brom defender's first touch is too heavy, though, which allows visiting goalkeeper Mathew Ryan to narrow the angle and block his shot.

'A brilliantly worked goal'

West Brom 1-0 Brighton

Kevin Kilbane

Former Republic of Ireland winger on Final Score

It's a brilliantly worked goal from West Brom, they've got players in the box, it's a great ball in and it's a great goal. Jonny Evans is one of two players at the back post, and he's lost his marker, and it's an easy header in the end.

Jonny Evans

West Brom 1-0 Brighton

West Brom force a succession of corners and their dead balls are causing plenty of nerves in the Brighton defence. Craig Dawson's low header flashes wide, as goalkeeper Mathew Ryan breathes a sigh of relief.

Evans' goal was only the sixth West Brom have scored since Alan Pardew took charge.

'Important games against those around us'

West Brom v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

Chris Hughton
BBC Sport

It's been a good season for Brighton so far - but despite sitting pretty in 12th place before kick-off only three points separate them and Stoke in 18th spot.

While Seagulls boss Chris Hughton would not call it a 'six pointer' he acknowledged the importance of fixtures against teams in and around them in the table.

"The most important results for us will be against the teams that very much affect us," Hughton said. "It's an opportunity but every game is. Every week the next game seems to be a real big game."

'Evans won't go on deadline day'

West Brom v Brighton (15:00 GMT)

BBC Sport

West Brom have captain Jonny Evans back in their starting line-up today as rumours persist about a move to Manchester City and Arsenal.

Baggies boss Alan Pardew, however, says there will be no transfer shenanigans with the defender too close to the deadline, though.

"I will put a cut-off date on any transfer," Pardew said. “That’s why I’d say three or four days before the window shuts and no later if it’s a big transfer of an important player.”
