A quick free-kick proves pivotal in the match between Gosport Borough and Crystal Palace Ladies Development.

The ball's shifted to the right and a well-directed finish proves the winner. 3-2 to Gosport.

Winning the ball back close to their own goal, slick passing takes them straight up the other end to draw level, making it Palace 2 Gosport Borough LFC 2.

Norton and Stockton pounce

Hall Road Rangers' goalkeeper is punished - feeling her momentum is about to take her out of the area after grabbing a rebound, she drops the ball and Norton and Stockton Ancients striker Sam seizes on it to put her side 2-0 ahead.

Beaminster's historical beef

Some of our walking footballers might describe themselves as ancient, but none quite boasts the historical background of Beaminster Wanderers , who number among them Richard Balson, proprietor of the longest-running family business in Britain.

How old? 200 years? Older. 300? Older. 400?!

Nope - try 502 years . Before Shakespeare. Before Queen Elizabeth I.

Balson & Son Butchers  in Bridport was established in 1515, opening a high-street shop in 1535. Now, 25 generations later...

Having helped Beaminster qualify for the semi-finals, Richard is unfortunately injured and won't be playing today, but we trust he's sent the lads on their way with best wishes, and maybe the odd meat pie...?

Argyle level it up

In the walking football in Bristol, Plymouth Argyle FC  make it 1-1 against Droitwich Spa Vets FC with this tidy turn and shot into the corner.

Gareth Southgate should be giving Finesse Academy Under-13s a call.

Two penalty shoot-out wins in one tournament? Unheard of on these shores.
