The two teams went into the game level on points in Pool Five - both trailing leaders Wasps by six.

Two tries in the final two minutes secured a dramatic victory for Wasps over Premiership strugglers Worcester.

Warriors, promoted back to the top flight in May, led 13-6 at half-time thanks to Cooper Vuna's try and Andy Symons' accuracy from the tee.

Guy Thompson crossed for Wasps to close the gap, but three more penalties from Symons put Worcester 22-20 in front.

But Frank Halai put Wasps ahead and Sailosi Tagicakibau crossed to steal a bonus point and deny Warriors anything.

London Irish survived a Newcastle fightback to climb above the Falcons and send the visitors back to the bottom of the Premiership table.

Two Chris Noakes penalties put the Exiles 6-0 ahead at the break.

Alex Lewington's try straight from kick-off at the start of the second half and Topsy Ojo's score three minutes later sent Irish well clear.

Falcons hit back through Andy Goode's penalty and tries from Nili Latu and Marcus Watson, but the Exiles held on.

Today has been an absolute humdinger, I'm sure you'll agree.

One spectacular almost-comeback, one spectacular completed comeback and one spectacular effort from an English side in Europe that ultimately came up short.

FT: Toulon 12-9 Bath

Thanks to everybody for tuning in this weekend. A very tough result to take, but onwards and upwards after a promising performance from Bath

Toulon 12-9 Bath

That result means Toulon are now within two points of Wasps at the top of Pool 5 with two games to play. Wasps host the European champions on Saturday. Bath have it all to do and are five points behind Wasps.

Full-time

Toulon 12-9 Bath

And that is full-time at the Stade Mayol - heartbreak for Bath but what a brave performance from Mike Ford's side.

Toulon 12-9 Bath

The scrum breaks up so it's going to be reset. Time is now up, the next stoppage will be full-time.

Toulon 12-9 Bath

Toulon could run down the clock but instead they decide to run the ball and it's lost forward. Bath have a late scrum with a minute to go but they're well inside their own half. There are bodies everywhere, it's been a brutal contest.

Toulon 12-9 Bath

The line-out is lost by Bath and Toulon clear to halfway. What a waste from Mike Ford's side.

Toulon 12-9 Bath

Can Bath get back into this game? They have a line-out inside Toulon's 22m with two and half minutes left.

Penalty (Michalak)

Toulon 12-9 Bath

It's a silly penalty to concede but that matters little and Frederic Michalak puts Toulon ahead for the first time in the contest. Just over three minutes left.

Toulon win the line-out, set up the driving maul and bulldoze themselves forward. Eventually they win a penalty...

Into the last 10 minutes in the South of France. @bathrugby getting closer & closer, but can't get through.

Toulon 9-9 Bath

It's a solid scrum from Toulon, who are up to the halfway line and eventually win a penalty. Quade Cooper kicks his side deep into Bath territory. Big line-out coming up.

Toulon 9-9 Bath

Oh my word! Chris Cook is fingertips away from an interception and a clear run to the try line. So close for the Bath scrum-half. It's a knock on and a scrum.

Toulon 9-9 Bath

What a jackal from Francois Louw, who wins the ball back at the breakdown and Bath are back inside the French 22m. Anthony Watson is penalised at the breakdown, not releasing, and Toulon kick for touch. It's carnage out there.

Toulon 9-9 Bath

We've got 10 minutes to go and Toulon finally have their hands back on the ball. Ominous for Bath.

Toulon 9-9 Bath

Bath press on the right wing this time and Anthony Watson flies down the touchline. The England man is tackled but Bath retain possession and look for an opening. It's so tense and George Ford tries his luck with a third drop goal. It sails just wide. So close.

Bath win the scrum, go through the phases, George Ford spots Matt Banahan in some space and sends a cross-field kick his way. Banahan offloads to Francois Louw but he tries to pass in contact and it's lost forward as Bath had numbers. One offload away from a try.

Toulon 9-9 Bath

Bath scrum half Chris Cook sends a kick from deep inside his own 22 to well into Toulon's 22. What a huge boost for his side who win a scrum from the resulting line-out.

Toulon 9-9 Bath

There's a break in play as both sides catch their breath, make changes and tend to the walking wounded. David Denton is on for Bath.

We've got 20 minutes to go at Stade Mayol with the scores level.

Toulon 9-9 Bath

Bath with a period of sustained pressure and after going through several phases eventually George Ford decides to force the issue and sends a grubber to the corner. It bobbles into touch though and it's a Toulon line-out.

Toulon 9-9 Bath

George Ford kicks Bath into Toulon's 22, they steal the line-out and look to have numbers but again the English side are isolated at the breakdown and Juan Fernandez Lobbe steals the ball and rescues his side.

Still incredibly tight in Toulon where @bathrugby are drawing 9-9 heading into the final 20 minutes. A second drop goal from George Ford.

Toulon 9-9 Bath

Bath need to get out of their own 22. They win another penalty from a scrum and George Ford kicks to half-way. Can they set something up from this?

Toulon 9-9 Bath

Vintage Toulon this, quick hands, offloading in contact, sustained pressure, going through the phases but Bath survive on this occasion. They're knocking on the door.

Toulon 9-9 Bath

My mistake, the final pass was forward so Bath have a scrum inside their own 5m. It's another penalty, this time for the English side.

Toulon 9-9 Bath

Josua Tuisova causes havoc in the Bath defence slicing them apart and creating an overlap on the left wing but the French side make a mess of the pass and Semesa Rokoduguni manages to scramble across and boot the ball into touch. Warning signs for Bath.

47: A never-say-die attitude in defence from Bath has stopped Toulon from scoring in the corner.

Penalty (Escade)

Scrum

This time it's Bath and Max Lahiff in particular who are penalised at a scrum, the prop guilty of turning himself in and Toulon have a kick for goal which Eric Escade sends over to level.

Drop-goal (Ford)

Toulon 6-9 Bath

Bath win an early penalty from a scrum which will be another feather in the cap of their front row. They kick for touch but the resulting line-out is lost - however, Bath win back possession and George Ford makes space for himself and sends over his second drop goal of the half.

Kick-off

Toulon 6-6 Bath

Toulon get the second half underway with Frederic Michalak on for the French side.

Toulon 6-6 Bath

Right then, all eyes back on the European Champions Cup. Big 40 minutes coming up in Bath's season, can they keep up this intensity for another half and tidy things up at the breakdown?

Wasps 32-22 Worcester

... And somehow Wasps have secured an incredible late victory over West Midlands neighbours Worcester Warriors.

Would you Adam and Eve it?

Sailosi Tagicakibau steals in for a remarkable long-range score, in the process securing a four-try bonus point for Wasps and oh-so-cruelly denying a losing bonus point for Worcester.

Where did that come from? The conversion is good too...
