We're hungry for more success - Barritt

Saracens 38-13 Glasgow

Saracens skipper Brad Barritt has been talking to BBC Radio 5 live - and it does not make good listening for rival teams...

"The hunger and the desire within the squad is even bigger than it's ever been," says the England centre.

That's fighting talk if I've ever heard it.

Jonny : Saracens have brought in internationals who weren't world class, and made them incredible players. Rhodes, Koch, Figallo, Hamilton.

'We always create opportunities - Farrell

Saracens 38-13 Glasgow

Saracens fly-half Owen Farrell, who is named man of the match, speaking to Sky Sports: "You come up with a game-plan during week but when game-time comes around have to adapt.

"We had some brilliant opportunities in that opening period and unfortunately we didn't take them all. It was tight in that second half but thankfully we pulled away in the end.

On whether Sarries used some of the attacking plays used by England against Scotland at Twickenham: "Glasgow defend similar to Scotland, because obviously they have many of the same players and we have some similar players. So obviously there was a bit of that.

"We have got some great line-runners here that are going to hold people in. When people are running lines like we had today then there are always going to be opportunities."

'Saracens were ruthless'

Saracens 38-13 Glasgow

Glasgow's Henry Pyrgos speaking to Sky Sports:  "Saracens were quality today. We were in the game for 60 minutes but they were ruthless in the last 20.

"We had a lot of confidence and were in the game but a couple of mistakes which Saracens punished took it away from us.

"This is the start for us as a club, the first time in the knock-outs and we want to be here again next year."

'Experience helped Sarries'

Glasgow have shown their class by not giving up and they know now how much they have to do if they want to make their first semi-final. The experience of winning before helps Saracens and what a semi-final to look forward to, Munster v Saracens in Dublin.

Former England hooker Brian Moore hails Sarries' performance...

A very intelligent performance from Saracens today. Their variety in attack has posed so many problems for Glasgow.

Saracens 38-13 Glasgow

All over! Holders Saracens into the Champions Cup semi-finals. A trip to Munster awaits.

Try - Saracens 38-13 Glasgow

Ryan Wilson

Huge cheer from the away fans as they see Ryan Wilson barge over for a consolation try. Too little too late.

Finn Russell looks like a man who just found out he has lost his wallet. Miserable. So miserable he can barely bothered to take the conversion, shanking it well wide.

Saracens 38-8 Glasgow

Credit to Glasgow, they aren't giving up. The visitors find another burst of energy - from where I don't know - to set up position in the Sarries 22.

Converted try - Saracens 38-8 Glasgow

Ashton try, Farrell con

Sarries do not want this to end, Glasgow are begging for the bell.

The European champions smell more tries as Owen Farrell and Alex Goode lead the attack, the latter slipping in Chris Ashton who cuts in from the flank before slipping over for his second of the afternoon.

Farrell casually clips over the extras from the touchline.

Sarries are flying now. Glasgow have run out of steam.

Jerry Guscott

Former England centre on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra

Scottish rugby doesn’t have the same strength in depth and that is showing here with the substitutes Saracens can bring on and the difference that makes. Glasgow have acquitted themselves well and contained Saracens for a period but Glasgow haven’t had an answer for the added impetus of the Saracens subs.

Converted try - Saracens 31-8 Glasgow

Barritt try, Farrell con

Job done. Schalk Brits has been brilliant since came on, the replacement hooker again providing a bit of X Factor at the scrum. His cheeky strike wins the ball and then he shows great hands as the Glasgow defence is pulled all over the shop.

Owen Farrell is also in the thick of things, his flat pass out to the left collected by skipper Brad Barritt. He darts inside to seal the win.

Saracens 24-8 Glasgow

How long that Glasgow resistance can last, I don't know. A Glasgow knock on invites more pressure...

Saracens 24-8 Glasgow

Oh my! Saracens go all Harlem Globetrotters on us. Dreamy offloads all of the place as they go from their own half to the Glasgow try-line in almost a blink of the eye after the restart.

However, the visitors scramble back and stop what seems to be an almost certain try.

Penalty - Saracens 24-8 Glasgow

Owen Farrell

Let's pick the bones out of this one. Alex Goode thinks he has scampered in for Saracens' third try, only for referee Jerome Garces to rule there was an obstruction.

The French official goes back to an earlier Glasgow infringement, allowing Owen Farrell to clip over from close range.

Jerry Guscott

Glasgow had a break there but they needed to find a gap and they didn’t which resulted in the big hit from the Saracens defence and a knock-on and possession back to Saracens. Saracens did let Glasgow back into the game briefly but that was them saying to Glasgow this is why we are champions.

For Glasgow to win today, you feel they need to be supremely accurate, and a couple of times Finn Russell has gone for the jugular with kicks to the corner and it hasn't paid off. With little under 15 minutes left, the Saracens boa constrictor can start to suck the life out of Glasgow.

Saracens 21-8 Glasgow

What a hit! Vincent Koch cleans out a Glasgow man, the ball spilled and back in possession of the hosts for the scrum. That could be Glasgow's chance gone.

Saracens 21-8 Glasgow

Glasgow are let off the hook after that lineout though, Saracens knocking on to gift a scrum to the visitors. They need to make this count...

Saracens 21-8 Glasgow

Jerry Guscott

Saracens are clever in what they have done with not allowing Stuart Hogg to see the ball for Glasgow. He has hardly done anything and at this level that is how hard it can be to get in to a game.

Saracens 21-8 Glasgow

...And they definitely won't turn this game around if they cheaply lose lineouts like this. Replacement hooker Alex Allan, who has only been on the pitch a matter of seconds, can't find his target as Jim Hamilton collects.

Saracens 21-8 Glasgow

Into the final quarter. Hard to see Glasgow turning this around now. However...they win a lineout in the Saracens 22...

Saracens 21-8 Glasgow

Jerry Guscott

Saracens squeezed Glasgow into a corner and that is a great response to Glasgow’s try. They picked up the intensity almost as if they took it as an affront that Glasgow scored a try against them.

Saracens 21-8 Glasgow

And it must pointing out that replacement hooker Schalk Brit's thunderous run is what set up the field position for Saracens. Glasgow must be wishing they had kicked into touch.

Marcelo Bosch

Ah. Glasgow do exactly what Jerry suggests they do not do.

A weak high kick is gobbled up by Chris Ashton, with Marcelo Bosch gliding through the middle of the Glasgow defence a couple of phases later.

Owen Farrell adds the simplest of conversions.

A little bit of a stalemate now. The next mistake could be so costly. Glasgow clinically executed the chance they got and they now need to make sure they don’t give away cheap momentum to Saracens.

Saracens 14-8 Glasgow

Schalk Brits is summoned from the Saracens bench. Not a bad option to replace Jamie George.

And talk about an instant impact! The South African hooker picks up the ball in his own 22, scurrying through the Saracens line with the fleet of foot expected from a back.

Sarries back in the Glasgow half...

Saracens 14-8 Glasgow

Chris Jones

We said Glasgow had to score first in this second half - and they have. Start of an historic comeback or will Sarries reassert their control? Shorter odds on the latter.

Saracens 14-8 Glasgow

Sarries compose themselves as they go back on the attack. The home team go through the phrases, only to be stopped in their tracks by a forward pass.

The Glasgow scrum is greeted by the shrill sound of bagpipes from the away fans. Their belief is back.

Saracens 14-8 Glasgow

Is the tide turning? Glasgow hope so. Saracens are letting frustration get the better of them, coughing up a penalty after kicking deep from the restart. Glasgow return the favour.

Saracens 14-8 Glasgow

Groans from the Glasgow contingent as Finn Russell's conversion attempt from the right touchline clunks the upright.

The Scottish side are back within a converted try of the European champions.

Fantastic play and who would have thought a cross-kick could have that effect. They have probably noticed they could get in that way with how Saracens defend at scrums and it was very well taken in the end by Jones.

Try - Saracens 14-8 Glasgow

Lee Jones

Game on! Glasgow score their first try - with what is probably their first foray into the Sarries 22.

Finn Russell pulls a kick out of the top drawer, deftly going crossfield with a perfectly-weighted effort which is collected by Lee Jones.

The Warriors wing does not have to break stride, allowing him to cut inside, easily palm off Chris Ashton and touch down.

Saracens 14-3 Glasgow

Jerry Guscott

That is a yellow all day long that tackle and Lee Jones has saved Jackson Wray from the bin by getting up and carrying on without any fuss. His feet were off the ground when the tackle came high which is dangerous play.

Saracens 14-3 Glasgow

But not everyone agrees with referee Jerome Garces decision...

Saracens 14-3 Glasgow

Glasgow win a penalty in their own half when Sarries flanker Jackson Wray takes out wing Lee Jones in the air as he collects a high ball. The Glasgow man's foot is almost planted as he was hit, so the challenge is not deemed serious enough for a yellow card.

Glasgow kick to touch inside the Sarries half as they look to set up camp.

Saracens 14-3 Glasgow

Here's a rare sight. A Glasgow line-out in the Saracens 22. But Jim Hamilton wins the ball and Glasgow concede a soft penalty to allow Sarries to boot clear.

Saracens 14-3 Glasgow

Warriors wing Tommy Seymour shows how good he is in the air, leaping high to win an aerial battle which he has no right to win. Warren Gatland will be impressed.

Glasgow recycle the ball and go through the phases as they aim to put some pressure on the Sarries defence.
