FT: Harlequins 26-39 Exeter

James Horwill is currently leading the Harlequins post mortem on the pitch.

The big Australian does not look a happy man and I imagine there will be a few in that group with some choice words.

FT: Harlequins 26-39 Exeter

Exeter winger Olly Woodburn told BT Sport: "It was a great Premiership clash and it is hard to come here so it was a great victory

"We played a lot of rugby but we were quite clinical at the end.

"I think we're all enjoying it with the attacking rugby we're playing."

FT: Harlequins 26-39 Exeter

35 tries in thier last seven matches and Exeter are very much on course for a home semi-final.

That was some showing.

Full-time

Rob Baxter

Another bonus-point win for Exeter who go level on points with leaders Wasps.

Even Rob Baxter should be able to crack a smile about that later.

Harlequins were excellent for large periods, but they've lost by 13 points. At home. They stay in sixth.

Try (Visser, con Swiel)

Harlequins 26-39 Exeter

Credit to Harlequins as they kept going, but a tiny consolation.

Tim Visser with a fine score, showing footwork and strength but too little too late.

Try (Visser)

Harlequins 24-39 Exeter

Harlequins 19-39 Exeter

James Horwill lets of a scream of happiness as they win a turnover penalty.

However, Tim Swiel then kicks the penalty dead. Just about sums up the night.

Try (Turner, con Steenson)

Harlequins 19-39 Exeter

Harlequins are trying, they're pressing, but a loose pass hits the floor and Lachlan Turner hacks it forward.

The Australian full-back gets a kind bounce, and gets the ball for his second try of the night.

Another conversion for Gareth Steenson and that is that.

Try (Turner)

Harlequins 19-37 Exeter

Well that's the end of any comeback ideas...

Credit those in North West London who are trying to crank up the noise levels and get their team another try.

A losing bonus-point surely the intial target here.

Harlequins 19-32 Exeter

Harlequins still pressing on.

Jamie Roberts, Marlande Yarde and Jamie Roberts all with half breaks that come to nothing.

Only Leicester have come away from the Twickenham Stoop with a Premiership win this season.

Harlequins need something special if that record is to stay the same.

Try (Slade, con Steenson)

Harlequins 19-32 Exeter

Exeter scrum-half Jack Maunder's kick over the top looks like it is coming to come to nothing.

But, Henry Slade gets to the ball, kicks over the stop again and regathers again for a second chip and chase score.

There is the bonus-point and a game that was so close looks so comfortable for the Chiefs.

Try (Slade)

Harlequins 19-30 Exeter

Harlequins 19-25 Exeter

Harlequins chasing a way back into this match, Exeter chasing a try bonus-point.

Try (Turner, con Steenson)

Harlequins 19-25 Exeter

This is just sublime from the Exeter full-back.

After Danny Care's attempted grubber and gather, Lachlan Turner gets the ball off James Short and counters in space.

He comes up against Nick Evans, kicks ahead, regathers a difficult bouncing ball and then dots down. Stunning score.

Replacement Gareth Steenson adds two more.

Try (Turner)

James Short of Exeter Chiefs goes on the attack

Chris Robshaw showed his quality with work rate and tackling earlier, but back from three months out and Luke Wallace shows his jackling skills to win a vital turnover on the edge of his own 22.

He's back from three months out the Quins openside.

Harlequins 19-18 Exeter

Twenty minutes to go and this is well set. Two teams that have come to play and put on quite a show for those watching on.

This could go either way.

Harlequins 19-18 Exeter

England coach, Eddie Jones watches on
Rex Features

Many people are trying to impress this man.

Henry Slade has George Ford and probably Owen Farrell to get ahead to be England 10. And then maybe Danny Cipriani or Alex Lozowski.

He's been brilliant with ball in hand but just kicked his restart into touch and his kicking from hand has been wayward at times.

Penalty (Evans)

Harlequins 19-18 Exeter

Just another three points for Harlequins' efforts, but they have the lead again.

This looks set for a very, very tight finish.

Harlequins 16-18 Exeter

Just a sudden burst through the gear by Harlequins, they're really in full flow.

The offloading is sublime. Some hero tackling. I haven't enjoyed a game as much as this in yonks.

Tim Visser of Harlequins looks for space as he's tackled by Jack Maunder of Exeter(9)
Rex Features

Harlequins 16-18 Exeter

Oh dear Michele Campagnaro.

After a mistake by Danny Care at the base of the ruck, the Exeter centre bursts down field and then all he has to do is draw the man and put Olly Woodburn in.

He makes a real mess of it and Harlequins then win a turnover.

Penalty (Slade)

Harlequins 16-18 Exeter

Jamie Roberts tackles a man without the ball and concedes the penalty.

Henry Slade's left boot, in front of England head coach Eddie Jones, is accurate and long as Exeter regain a slender lead.

Harlequins 16-15 Exeter

Their driving maul is usually a thing of beauty in terms of its precision and accuracy but on their second line-out, Jack Yeandle over cooks his throw and Quins clear.

So, Exeter, what have you got in return?

After Charlie Matthews is pinged for offside, they kick to touch for a line-out 12 metres out.

Try (Evans, missed con)

Harlequins 16-15 Exeter

He might be 36 but Nick Evans shows he's still go some gas.

The Kiwi fly-half reads Olly Devoto's pass, intercepts and sprints in for 25 metres or so out and just, JUST, about gets there before the recovering tacklers come in.

He is unable to add a conversion to his score.

Carry, carry, carry

Carry
.

I know he isn't on the pitch tonight, but Thomas Waldrom shows how much Exeter focus their game around carrying the ball.

Winger Olly Woodburn in the top five in the English top flight too.

Half-time

Harlequins 8-15 Exeter

Rob Baxter's Exeter have not been beaten in the league since October 30 and you can see why.

They've given as good as they have got and been clinical with their two tries.

Harlequins have been so easy on the eye with ball in hand tonight and might be scratching their heads a bit why they're not ahead.

That was really enjoyable.

Penalty (Evans)

Harlequins 11-15 Exeter

Something for Harlequins to take in the break.

Dave Ewers cynically stops an attack for a pretty obvious penalty and Nick Evans does the honours.

Harlequins 8-15 Exeter

Nick Evans makes a superb touchfinder from a penalty to get Harlequins within five metres.

Line-out, and a chance to strike... but they over throw and Exeter have the ball again.

Try (Campagnaro, con Slade)

Harlequins 8-15 Exeter

Michele Campagnaro try
Rex Features

Whoa this is some try.

James Short goes on a mazy run, gives it to Olly Woodburn who makes a superb one-handed offload to Michele Campanaro who is cutting back on the inside to step once and cross.

Henry Slade on target from the tee on the stroke of half-time.

Try (Campagnaro)
