Plymouth Devils lose 58-3 at Sheffield

Plymouth Devils

Plymouth Devils poor form continued as they lost 58-38 at Sheffield to stay bottom of the Premier League.

Ricky Wells top scored for Plymouth with 12+1 while Ben Barker came away with 11 points.

John Oliver, who was guesting for the injured Kyle Hughes, got nine points from seven rides.

But the Devils squad suffered a further blow when Lee Smart was forced to withdraw from the meeting with a shoulder injury after the opening race.

He is now a major doubt ahead of Friday's match with Ipswich at St Boniface Arena.

Plymouth are now a point off second-from-bottom Leicester with four matches in hand, but are 17 points away from third-from-bottom Newport.
