Dennis Andersson has agreed to stay with Elite League champions Poole Pirates for the 2012 season.

Promoter Matt Ford told BBC Radio Solent: "Dennis was always part of my plans. It didn't take long to get a deal sorted.

"I think he has a bright future in the sport and he's still a young rider."

The Pirates have also agreed a deal for Australian rider Sam Masters, who will double up at Premier League side Somerset Rebels.

On Masters signing Ford added: "Sam is good friends with (Pirates riders) Darcy Ward and Chris Holder and he made it clear he'd like to ride here.

"He's an excellent racer and I think he could go on to be a world-class rider."
