Polish rider Tomasz Piszcz is returning to the Birmingham Brummies for the 2012 speedway season.

The 34-year-old rode for the club in 2008 and 2009 and is the Brummies' sixth main signing ahead of the new campaign which gets underway in March.

"Tomasz was a tremendously popular rider with the fans in his previous seasons with us," Brummies boss Graham Drury said.

"If he can capture his best form, he can do a good job for us."

Piszcz, who had been linked with moves to Peterborough, Coventry, Belle Vue and Poole, teamed up with Jason Lyons in 2009 to win the Premier League Best Pairs final.

He joins Bjarne Pedersen, Ben Barker, Josh Auty, Danny King and Sebastian Ulamek in the ranks at Perry Barr.
