Rule changes after third IndyCar crash

Indianapolis 500 driver Ed Carpenter escapes unhurt after his car crashes into a wall and flips over during practice for next week's race.

Carpenter is the third Chevrolet driver in a week to have gone airborne during a crash at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, leading to concerns over a new aerodynamic design on the cars before the 500-mile race on 24 May.

Rules have now been put in place so the cars are forced to run race-level aerodynamics and engine boost settings during qualifying in an effort to reduce speeds and increase downforce.
