Scotland's hopes of winning the Netball World Cup were ended by a crushing 71-24 defeat by Jamaica in their third and final Pool B game in Sydney.

Gail Parata's side were outscored in every quarter, with Jhaniele Fowler-Reid scoring 59 of her side's goals.

Wales sealed top spot in Pool D and maintained their 100% record with a 49-47 win over Uganda.

Round two of the competition in Sydney starts on Tuesday, when the 16 nations split into four pools of four teams.
The first two pools are made up of the teams who finished in the top two of their preliminary-round groups, and a round-robin format will decide who progresses to the semi-finals.
The other two pools will filter into the play-offs for the placing matches.

A faultless shooting display in the final period by Chelsea Lewis and Emma Thomas, who hit all 14 of her shots in the game, pushed Wales to victory and a spot in a pool containing England, South Africa and holders Australia.

In Pool D's other match, Fiji beat Zambia 59-51, although both sides are destined for the play-offs for the placing matches.

In Pool C, South Africa qualified for the top pools with an emphatic 89-17 win over Sri Lanka, who finished bottom with three defeats.
