Donegal are on the brink of promotion after easing to victory in the Allianz NFL Division Two clash at Ballyshannon.

The hosts raced into a five-point lead after eight minutes but Antrim fought back to level.

Donegal were 0-8 to 0-6 ahead at half-time and took control after the break with Colm McFadden netting.

The Saffrons hit back with a Brian Neeson goal but it proved to be in vain and they now face a tough task to avoid relegation.

Donegal played against the wind in the first half but they still managed to score the first five points of the game.

Antrim fired over the next five, with four coming from Thomas McCann.

Michael Hegarty and McFadden scored the last two points of the half to give Donegal the advantage at the interval.

Donegal had already pulled clear before McFadden netted midway through the second half.

Tony Scullion set up substitute Neeson for Antrim's immediate reply but it failed to spark a Saffrons comeback.
