Ian Hutchinson has confirmed that he will miss this year's Ulster Grand Prix as he continues to recover from serious leg injuries which ruled him out of the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT.

Hutchinson sustained the injuries at Silverstone last September.

The 31-year-old has decided to focus on getting fit for the 2012 racing season.

The Yorkshire rider won three races at last year's Ulster Grand Prix, a hat-trick which extended his winning streak at international road races to nine.

The Ulster Grand Prix and Dundrod 150 races run from 10 to 13 August.
