Paul Grimley is to return to the Armagh sideline after being announced as a new member of Paddy O'Rourke's Orchard county management team for next season.

Grimley moves from his post as assistant to Meath manager Seamus McEnaney to replace Donal Murtagh, who has stepped down from his position.

Grimley was assistant manager to Joe Kernan when Armagh won the All-Ireland title in 2002.

He was twice tipped to become Armagh boss but was overlooked both times.

It was thought that the Pearse Og clubman would take over from Kernan in 2007 and then from Peter McDonnell in 2009.

Grimley left Armagh in 2006 and was assistant to Donal Keogan in Cavan in 2007, Kieran McGeeney in Kildare in 2008 and 2009, and McEnaney in Monaghan in 2010 and Meath last year.
