Donegal's All-Ireland winning coach Rory Gallagher is the new assistant manager of the county's Under-21 team.

The Fermanagh native, who worked under Jim McGuinness when Donegal won the 2012 All-Ireland senior football title, had his appointment ratified on Monday.

He will again be joining forces with Under-21 boss Maxi Curran, who was also part of McGuinness' backroom team.

The duo left after this year's defeat to Mayo, with McGuinness appointing a whole new backroom team for 2014.
