Jonathan Rea hopes to retain his World Superbike title with a round to spare in Jerez this weekend but says he will be ready to battle again in the final two races in Qatar if necessary.
Northern Irishman Rea, 29, will take a 48-point lead over Kawasaki team-mate Tom Sykes into the final two rounds of the championship, with a maximum 100 points available in Spain and Qatar.
"To win the championship here, I have to outscore my team-mate by three points over the weekend," said the title holder.
"That's possible because I've outscored him a lot this season but he has been riding really well and we are having some issues with the bike."
Rea's Kawasaki had some traction control problems in practice on Friday afternoon but the Northern Irishman was optimistic that these would be ironed out in Saturday's session.
