Gaza runner's Olympic struggle

At its narrowest point, the Gaza Strip is six kilometres wide. Nader el Masri, a 5,000m runner from Gaza, could therefore almost traverse his homeland in a single session.

Gaza lacks basic training facilities and had to borrow running spikes at the 2010 Asian Games in China.

Nevertheless, as the BBC's Tim Franks found out, el Masri still offers hope and inspiration to those confined to the Gaza Strip.
