Emese Szasz delivered Hungary's first gold medal at Rio 2016 with victory over Italy's Rossella Fiamingo in the final of the women's individual epee.

Szasz had trailed two-time world champion Fiamingo 11-7 during the second period.

But she fought back to win 15-13 and earn Hungary a third gold medal in the women's epee in the last five Olympics.

Earlier, China's Yiwen Sun took bronze, beating Lauren Rembi of France, also by a score of 15-13, at Carioca Arena 3.
