Georgia's Lasha Talakhadze broke the +105kg world record to win gold with a combined total of 473kg.

Talakhadze, 22, broke the snatch world record first, posting 215kg, before London 2012 champion, Iran's Behdad Salimi Kordasiabi, lifted 216kg.

However, Salimi Kordasiabi failed to post a clean and jerk lift, leaving Talakhadze to secure gold, then lift 258kg for the overall world record.

Armenia's Gor Minasyan took silver and Georgia's Irakli Turmanidze won bronze.
