Tim Roby: Super League referee set for NRL match official role

Tim Roby
Roby has been touch judge in Challenge Cup and Grand Finals as well as at the World Cup

Referee Tim Roby will leave Super League with immediate effect to take up an offer to officiate in the Australasian National Rugby League.

Roby follows in the footsteps of Ashley Klein, who made the same move in 2009.

The 25-year-old has refereed 75 top-flight matches and has been touch judge in Grand Final and World Cup matches.

"I would like to thank the RFL for the last five years; it's been a great privilege to be part of the senior match officials team," Roby said.

Rugby Football League match officials coaching and technical director Jon Sharp added: "Tim is a product of our development programme and his move to Australia is an indication of the high regard in which our match officials are held around the world."
