Huddersfield climbed into the Super League top four with a convincing victory against Hull FC, who had won their last three league and cup games.

Tries from Danny Brough, Ukuma Ta'ai and Jamie Ellis gave the visitors a comfortable 16-0 half-time lead.

Michael Lawrence's try continued their dominance after the break before Steve Michaels got Hull on the scoresheet.

Jermaine McGillvary's late try capped a fine display by Huddersfield, who have now won back-to-back games.

Perhaps with thoughts of their opening day 19-0 humbling by the Airlie Birds, Huddersfield were ruthless from the start, while Hull were guilty of passing up opportunities to strike.

Radford on Hull FC v Huddersfield

Brough on his 150th appearance, against his former club, was at the heart of everything for the visitors, dancing over for the opening score, and his kicking game caused problems throughout.

Hull were unable to take their opportunities, notably when Craig Huby was sin binned, as Huddersfield held out despite intense pressure to strike twice again before the break, without reply.

Ta'ai was too strong for the Hull cover defence after his line break took him through on the left, and after Joe Wardle's score was ruled out for a forward pass, Ellis tracked his own grubber-kick to cross.

Further indiscipline after half time handed Hull chances they wasted, and Lawrence punished them when his footwork from Brough's inside pass took him across the stripe.

Michaels' beautifully-worked try was little consolation for Hull head coach Lee Radford.

McGillvary's try arrived on the hooter as Hull were left to contemplate the end of their three-game winning run.
