Resilient Saints please Cunningham

St Helens have developed a team spirit over the past few seasons that has helped them to overcome adversity, says head coach Keiron Cunningham.

Saints showed that character in Sunday's Super League Magic Weekend fixture against Warrington, winning 22-16 after trailing 16-8 at half-time.

Cunningham stepped up from assistant to replace outgoing head coach Nathan Brown at the end of the 2014 season.

"It's something we've been growing," Cunningham told BBC Super League Show.

"You can't fabricate togetherness, it something that grows. We're getting better and better and this year we've really flourished.

"We're a good group of players, a good group of friends and they work really hard for each other."

The champions have made a strong effort to defend their crown in 2015, lying second behind Leeds in the Super League table after 16 games.
