Former England forward Gareth Hock has been fined £1,000 by the Rugby Football League for posting "inappropriate material" on social media.

Ex-Wigan, Widnes and Salford second row Hock, 31, joined Championship side Leigh Centurions on 26 February.

While playing for Salford Red Devils earlier that month, he was banned for six games for reckless use of his knees in a Super League defeat by St Helens.

An RFL statement said Hock breached the RFL's social media policy in February.
