Workington Town have signed outside-back Kieran Mewse on professional terms, after he impressed on trial.

Mewse, 18, is a boyhood Town fan and played amateur rugby for Seaton Rangers in addition to academy rugby league with the Cumbria Storm squad.

The Storm academy side were coached by current boss Dave Clark before he took over at Derwent Park.

"I've supported Town with my dad since I was a kid so to sign for them is a dream come true," Mewse said.

Clark added: "His game awareness, positioning and kicking has been excellent for such a young player taking his first steps in pro rugby league."
