Bedford Blues have made their seventh signing for the 2011/12 campaign by bringing in Saracens forward Don Barrell.

The 25-year-old featured three times for the Premiership side this season.

He made his first of 39 Sarries appearances against Northampton in April 2004.

"We are delighted to have such an experienced and passionate player signing for us," Blues director of rugby Mike Rayer said.

"We've seen what he can do and he comes with a fine reference from all the coaches down at Saracens.

"I've no doubt Don will add great value not just in the back row but also to the group we are assembling here at Goldington Road."

The former England Sevens and Under-18s player is capable of performing anywhere across the back row.

Rayer has already bolstered his squad with the signings of prop Nico Steenkamp, centre Henry Staff, wing Mark Kohler, fly-half Jamie Lennard and flankers Jon Fisher and Neil Cochrane.
