Plymouth Albion have signed Navy forwards Gareth Evans and Kyle Mason for the 2011/12 season.

Evans, a Corporal in the Royal Marines, has re-signed after ending last season as the club's first choice hooker.

Loosehead prop Mason, a Maltese international, serves with the Naval Air Service.

Albion chairman of rugby Graham Dawe said: "Kyle is a Plymouth lad and he feels with time he can make the step up to Championship level."

The high turnover at Brickfields continues, however, with Albion confirming three more players have been released.

Lock Robin Copeland, centre Ben Mercer and fly-half Kieran Hallett have all been allowed to leave.

They join previously confirmed departures Sione Tu'ipulotu (utility back), prop George Porter, flanker Rory Watts-Jones, lock Tom Skelding and scrum-half Tom Kessell. Others are expected to follow.
