Redruth boss Dave Penberthy looks for backs to improve

Redruth director of rugby Dave Penberthy has called on his side's backs to raise their game to the standard of the club's forwards.

Redruth host Taunton on Saturday after losing at Hertford last week.

"Front row-wise we've got three of the best props in the South West, there's no question about that," Penberthy told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"We've just got to get a bit more experience and fluidity in the backs to match the forward power."

Redruth have won four of their five home matches this season, and their only loss was by a point to Henley in September.

The Reds are without Luke Collins for the clash with Taunton after his wife gave birth to twins, while Damien Cook has a back injury and Will Penney is out for the season with a broken leg.

It has meant back-row Chris Fuca has had to move into the heart of the scrum at lock.
