Leicester Tigers centres Anthony Allen and Billy Twelvetrees are close to agreeing new deals with the club.

Both Twelvetrees, 23, and Allen, 25, joined in July 2009 and are out of contract at the end of the season.

But director of rugby Richard Cockerill told BBC Radio Leicester that the club are eager to keep the young English duo at Welford Road.

"Billy and Anthony...we are down the line with those guys and we want to keep them," Cockerill said.

Allen joined after leaving Gloucester while Twelvetrees moved from Bedford Blues at the same time as the club signed fly-half Jeremy Staunton.
