Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter says he is weighing up how many changes to make to his side for their Amlin Challenge Cup match at Cavalieri Prato.

Chiefs are top of their group and beat the Italians 68-0 with a below-strength side at Sandy Park in November.

"We've got some sore bodies around who've played some tough games of Premiership rugby so we'll have to make a call there," Baxter said.

A win for Chiefs would set up a group decider with Perpignan next week.

"We're going to have to be very careful though because we want to play very well over there and get something out of that game to create a massive game against Perpignan," Baxter added.

"Hopefully we can be playing Perpignan trying to get into the quarter-finals.

"But at the same time I'm very aware that if that's the only game we're looking at we're going to go to Prato and get our pants pulled down," Baxter told BBC Radio Devon.

Exeter have never made the knockout stages of the European competition before.

This season's Amlin Challenge Cup run is just the club's second continental campaign after they were promoted to the Premiership at the beginning of last season.

The club have won their last three successive matches in the competition after losing their opening game away at Perpignan.
