England's women completed their Six Nations campaign with a comfortable 24-0 victory over Italy in Rovato to secure second place in the table.

Full-back Danielle Waterman was among the four try scorers after more than a year out with a knee injury.

England won this season's Triple Crown but suffered a 18-6 defeat against France in their opening match.

France sealed a first Grand Slam since 2005 with a 19-15 victory over Ireland in Pau on Friday.

Emily Scarratt, Laura Keates and Amber Reed also crossed the line for England against a plucky Italian side that had plenty of possession and territorial advantage but could not find a way past a solid defence.

Wales overcame Scotland 25-0 to complete the final round of fixtures and consign the Scots to the wooden spoon.

Ireland's defeats to France and England left them third in the final standings, with Italy's two wins leaving them fourth.
