Australia are reported to have caused 8,000 euro worth of damage to the away changing room at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin after their defeat by Ireland.

The Wallabies lost the game 26-23 and it is understood that damage was caused to a door, doorframe and wall.

An Australian team source has put the damage down to "an accident" while the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) have declined to comment on the matter.

Australia are understood to have offered to assist in any way required.
