Ireland coach Nigel Carolan has named Sean McNulty and Charlie Rock in his 28-player squad for next month's World U20 Championships in Parma.

McNulty, who returns from injury, and the uncapped Rock are the only players in the panel who were not involved in this year's U20 Six Nations.

Eight of the squad played in last year's tournament in New Zealand, where Ireland finished fourth.

Ireland are in Pool C along with Argentina, Scotland and New Zealand.

Munster's McNulty comes back into the squad after featuring in Ireland's U20 Six Nations campaign in 2014.

Ross Byrne, Billy Dardis, Ciaran Gaffney, Oisin Heffernan, Nick McCarthy, Rory Moloney, Josh Murphy and Gary Ringrose played for Ireland in last year's Junior World Championship.

The Irish start their challenge against Argentina on 2 June in Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi, with the tournament running until 22 June.
