Matt Hema is expected to be the only big name to leave Guernsey this summer

Guernsey head coach Jordan Reynolds says he expects to sign more new players before the start of the season.

The National Three London club have brought in former Welsh Universities international Owen Thomas, but fellow back Matt Hema has left.

New Zealander Hema, who spent one season at Footes Lane, has joined Bury St Edmunds, who won the league last season.

"There will be a few new faces this year," Reynolds told BBC Guernsey.

The club are due to play Cornish Pirates in a pre-season friendly in August, with Reynolds hoping to revamp the team's pre-season schedule.

"Pre-season's always been different, he said. "We've always struggled to start well and that's been a big factor for us.

"This year we're changing it up again. This will be the ninth year we've changed it to try and find the formula that works."
