Flanker Lewis Ludlow has signed his first senior contract with Gloucester.

The 24-year-old played in the 39-27 Premiership opener victory against Newcastle this season and started in three of the club's first four Challenge Cup games.

Ludlow is a product of Gloucester's academy and has played for Gloucester United in the Premiership A League.

"I've worked hard this year when I've been training with the first team," he told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"Just getting a chance, that's all I've asked for in the last six months, and I will prove what I can do.

"I'm really happy to have signed my first professional contract and my aim for the next 12 months is establish myself in the main 23 and then just progress from there."
