Chris Morgan: Cornish Pirates captain happy to be fit again
Cornish Pirates captain Chris Morgan says he is fully fit ahead of the forthcoming season.
The 35-year-old missed almost all of last season's Championship campaign after injuring his shoulder.
"It's been so frustrating, as anyone who's had an injury will know," Morgan, who has been selected as skipper for a third season, told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"I'm really pleased to be able to do a full pre-season with everyone and be into it for the start of the season."
Morgan says the squad are missing former director of rugby Ian Davies, who left in the summer as part of a cost-cutting drive at the Penzance-based club, but believes his influence is still being felt around the Mennaye.
"Ian put the building blocks in for everything we've done so far this pre-season," he said.
"The squad's the same as it was and Ian put that squad together.
"This year he'll be very much with us in terms of whatever we do because the message has been the same, the way we're trying to play and what we're trying to do is still the same."
