Herring on the pros and cons of being Best understudy
- From the section Irish Rugby
Ulster's Rob Herring lauds Rory Best as "an Ulster and Irish legend" as his fellow hooker prepares to join an elite band of players who have won 100 caps for Ireland in Saturday's Test against Australia.
Herring, who shares Ulster captaincy duties with Andrew Trimble, explains that he has learnt a lot from Best but "would like to be challenging him more in terms of a starting place for Ulster and Ireland".
The Ulster number two admits it can be "frustrating" being in and out of the starting line-up but hopes that he will be given more opportunities to show what he can do.
