British and Irish Cup: Cardiff Blues 10-55 Jersey
Jersey are in a strong position to qualify for the British & Irish Cup quarter-finals after a comfortable win over Cardiff Blues Premiership Select.
Tries from Jack Cuthbert, Sean McCarthy and Nick Haining gave the visitors control by half time.
Kieran Hardy, Jack Macfarlane, Max Argyle, Jake Armstrong and Haining all went over after the break to move the Reds to within one point of Ulster A.
Winger James Beal ran in a late consolation for the hosts.
Jersey now host Ulster in the final round of group matches, with the winner set to top the group and earn a home quarter-final. The five pool toppers plus the three best runners-up will go through to the knock out stages.
The Reds were ahead in Merthyr Tydfil within the opening minutes when full-back Cuthbert touched down in the right corner, and McCarthy's score from close range soon after gave his side an early 17-3 advantage.
Haining ran onto a ball that had cannoned off his own shin to score his first of the afternoon and scrum-half Hardy sprinted through from distance and had the legs to go over just moments into the second half to secure the bonus-point.
Seconds later Haining burst through for another to help extend the lead to 34-3, putting the result beyond any real doubt with well over half-an-hour to play.
Macfarlane was next to crash over and then former Rotherham back-row Argyle dotted down after good control with his feet at the back of a dominating scrum.
Replacement front-row Armstrong completed the commanding display when he had the strength to go over before Beal eased in for a late converted-try at the other end.
