Holders Newtonmore beat Glenurquhart to reach the MacTavish Cup final

MacTavish Cup holders Newtonmore progressed to another final with a 3-1 win over Glenurquhart at the Eilan.

Kyles and Oban Camanachd will meet in the GCC Celtic Society Cup final after the former beat Glasgow Mid Argyll 3-0 and the latter edged Inveraray 1-0.

There is no change at the base of the Marine Harvest Premiership after the bottom two both lost. Lochaber remain pointless, defeated 1-0 away by Lovat, and Kilmallie went down 2-0 at home to Kingussie.

It took Newtonmore an hour to break Glenurquhart down with a Glen MacKintosh double bracketing a goal from Drew MacDonald. Neale Reid pulled one back for Glenurquhart in the final minute.

More will now meet the winners of the second semi-final between Kinlochshiel and Kilmallie, who meet on 20 May.

Scott MacDonald's first-half Celtic Society Cup brace for Kyles against Mid Argyll was split by Thomas Whyte. Daniel Cameron scored the goal which took Camanachd past Inveraray into the final.

Ryan Borthwick grabbed both Kingussie's goals in the first 12 minutes to lift them into second place in the Premiership. Martin Bell also scored early for Lovat, who go up three places to fifth.

Skye remain top of the National Division after a 4-0 home win over Beauly, with Caberfeidh now second after their 7-0 success in Inverness, where Kevin Bartlett bagged a hat-trick.

Newtonmore are still unsure of their first-round opponents in the Camanachd Cup after the preliminary tie between Fort William and Oban Celtic, who led 2-0 early on, ended in a 3-3 draw, and goes to a replay.

The other remaining preliminary tie produced a 4-0 victory over Ballachulish for Strathglass, who will now host Kilmory.
