Scot Seonaid McIntosh secured the silver medal and set a new British Under-21 record at the European Shooting Championships in the Netherlands.

The youngster scored 207.0 in the Junior Women's Air Rifle discipline.

McIntosh's medal is the first for Team GB in this year's Championships.

"It feels really cool, but I'm slightly disappointed at the same time because I was so close to gold but lost it with my final 10 shots," she said.

"That said, I'm really happy, it's just I'm very competitive and like to win."

McIntosh's sister Jennifer claimed a silver and a bronze medal at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, and Seonaid reckons her display at the European Under-21s will stand her in good stead for the future.

"I'm sure the experience will help me for major competitions going forward," she added.

"It had a great atmosphere - and although a lot of the cheering wasn't for me, it was a fantastic experience."
