Ten-time ladies' world champion Reanne Evans has entered the Q School qualifying event in May in a bid to earn a World Snooker tour card.

Evans lost to Ken Doherty in qualifying for the 2015 men's World Championship and was beaten in the ladies' last four by Ng On Yee to lose her world title.

A second female player, Heather Clare from Leicester, has applied too.

Scotland's Marcus Campbell, who won a Players Tour Championship minor-ranking event in 2010, is also in the draw.

The Q School runs from 14-25 May at the Meadowside Leisure Centre in Burton and the four semi-finalists in each of the two tournaments will earn a two-year card for the World Snooker tour.

A record 166 players have entered this year, compared to last year's 145, from 22 different nations.
