The Newcastle Diamonds star was left fighting for his life in August.

Speedway rider Lewis Kerr says he plans to continue racing despite a horror crash while competing for Newcastle Diamond at King's Lynn last month.

Kerr collided with an opposition rider and then with the fence surrounding the track, an incident which left him in an induced coma.

However the 25-year-old has since returned home and is planning his recovery around a return in 2016.

"I'll be back next season," he told BBC Look North.

"I look forward to getting back fit and training again. I wouldn't want to be doing anything else, it was a freak accident."
