Ledecky wins 800m in world record

American Katie Ledecky wins the 800m freestyle in a world record time of eight minutes 07.39 seconds, with Britain's Jazz Carlin taking bronze.

The victory is the 18-year-old's fifth gold medal of these championships, having already won the 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 1500m freestyle and 4x200-meter freestyle relay.

Carlin's third place is a first individual world championship medal for the Welsh swimmer.
