The momentum was with Ward when play was halted

Bad light intervened to save defending champion Sam Querrey from a possible shock third-round loss to Britain's James Ward at the Aegon Championship.

Querrey won the first set 6-3 but fans who stayed to the end of play at Queen's were rewarded with a fine Ward revival as he won the second, also 6-3.

But with the time approaching 2050 BST, the referee halted play at the end of the set because of bad light.

The winner will take the last remaining place in the quarter-final line-up.
