Britain's Aljaz Bedene progressed to the second round of the Croatia Open with a 6-4 6-3 victory over Mate Delic.

Slovenia-born Bedene, 26, took 75 minutes to see off his Croatian opponent on Centre Court in Umag.

Bedene, who reached his first ATP final at the Chennai Open in January, wrote on Twitter: "Pleased to get the win, it's one of my favourite tournaments."

The British number two will next play either Croatian seventh seed Borna Coric or Spain's Marcel Granollers.
