Britain's Naomi Broady has lost her first WTA semi-final in straight sets in the Quebec City Challenge.

The British number three, ranked 157th in the world, was beaten 6-4 6-2 by Latvia's Jelena Ostapenko in Canada.

Stockport-born Broady, 25, only gained entry to the tournament as a 'lucky loser' after losing in qualifying.

Germany's Annika Beck, who beat defending champion Mirjana Lucic-Baroni of Croatia 6-2 2-6 6-4, will face Ostapenko in Sunday's final.
