BBC Sport - From Porthmadog to Euro 2016 - the rise of Osian Roberts

Welsh football's most powerful man?

He's played a key role in Wales reaching next summer's European Championship finals and ending their 57-year wait to qualify for a major tournament.

But how much do you really know about Chris Coleman's assistant, Osian Roberts? Could he lay claim to being one of the most important figures in Welsh football?

The BBC's Sport Wales programme profiles the man who started his coaching career in the United States before returning home to work in Welsh football including a stint as Porthmadog boss.

Roberts combines his job as Coleman's number two with the role of technical director at the Football Association of Wales.

He also runs coaching courses which attract some of the biggest names in the game , including Patrick Vieira and Thierry Henry, to Wales as well as looking after the Wales Under-16 and Under-15 sides.

Through his various roles Roberts is responsible for making sure Wales build on the success of Gareth Bale and company - meaning he is undoubtedly one of the most powerful men in the Welsh game.

You can watch Sport Wales every Friday on BBC Two Wales and on the iPlayer.
