Welsh 400m runner Seren Bundy-Davies will not take part in the World Indoor Championships as she focuses on qualifying for the Olympics in Rio.

The 21-year-old finished second at the Glasgow Indoor Grand Prix on Saturday.

Bundy-Davies won individual bronze at the 2015 European Indoor Championships but will miss March's world event in the United States.

"I want to get that individual spot for Rio so that's why I'm not doing the World Indoors," she said.

"I loved the Europeans last year - it was probably my biggest achievement to date, that individual medal.

"But it took a lot out of me in terms of the outdoor season."

Bundy-Davies recorded a time of 52.10 in Glasgow as she was narrowly beaten by Jamaica's Stephenie Ann McPherson, who won in 52.05.

The Welsh runner won a silver medal in the 4x400m relay at last year's European Indoor Championships to go with her individual bronze.

She also won bronze in the 4x400m relay at last year's World Championships in China.
