Manon Carpenter is facing a spell off her bike after breaking a collarbone at the UCI Downhill Mountain Bike World Championships on Sunday.

The 23-year-old crashed in the opening section of the course and was unable to continue, with Rachel Atherton taking the title in Val di Sole.

"I've broken my collarbone and am getting it checked out tomorrow but otherwise I'm okay," said Carpenter.

The Welsh rider finished second in the 2016 Downhill Mountain Bike World Cup.
